While we understand that this is a disappointment to those who were hoping to have their iron rings before graduation, we are unable to simply mail rings to graduates. Everyone who wishes to wear the Iron Ring must attend an Obligation Ceremony to undertake the obligation (oath) in the presence of their peers, and personally have their Iron Ring placed on their finger by a senior, Obligated Engineer. This is at the core of the tradition of the Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer.
All Iron Ring Ceremonies across Canada have been postponed until the fall.
All students graduating with a Canadian-accredited undergraduate degree in engineering are eligible to attend an Iron Ring Ceremony anywhere in Canada. The Iron Ring Camps across Canada are listed here.
