The next Iron Ring Ceremony in Calgary is planned for November 7, pending provincial and University of Calgary health regulations for in-person gatherings.
If you registered for the cancelled March 28 ceremony, check back here for further information as the COVID-19 situation evolves. All registrants for March 28 have been re-booked for November 7. An option to cancel your registration is offered at the bottom of this page.
New registration for the November 7 ceremony will open here in mid-September. Graduates from other Canadian universities and professional members from APEGA will be welcome to attend, space permitting.
All Iron Ring Ceremonies across Canada have been postponed. The national iron ring organization is evaluating an online virtual ceremony to be used if it is impossible to hold in-person ceremonies
Everyone who wishes to wear the Iron Ring must attend an Obligation Ceremony to undertake the obligation (oath) in the presence of their peers, and personally receive their Iron Ring from a senior, Obligated Engineer. This is at the core of the tradition of the Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer.
All students graduating with a Canadian-accredited undergraduate degree in engineering, or practising engineers accepted for professional membership by provincial regulatory bodies such as APEGA, are eligible to attend an Iron Ring Ceremony. The Iron Ring Camps across Canada are listed here.
To cancel your March 28 registration and receive a refund, please fill out the following form. Be aware that you will lose your place in the next ceremony and if you reconsider, you will have to wait until mid-September to register again.
